Hi, I’m Patricia Marques — author, career consultant, and workshop facilitator.
I write genre fiction, and my Inspector Reis series is published by Hodder & Stoughton. Part procedural, part speculative, the novels are grounded in character and set against the atmospheric backdrop of Lisbon.
Alongside my writing, I’ve spent over six years supporting people with their working lives.
I’ve advised early-career creatives, mentored writers, and worked closely with employers across industries to align student needs with real-world opportunities. My background combines career strategy, creative development, and a solid dose of practicality.
Whether I’m running a writing workshop, coaching someone through their first novel, or helping someone figure out their next career step, my focus is always the same: clear, honest support that helps people move forward.
I’m based in the UK, usually found at my desk with a cup of tea and too many tabs open.
